Units of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Defense Forces, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) struck a military-industrial facility in Izhevsk, Russia, as well as an oil refinery in the Saratov region. Both attacks took place today, July 1, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Kupol plant was hit

According to the General Staff, on July 1, SBU units, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a strike on the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol, located in the Udmurt Republic of the Russian Federation.

"Kupol is part of Russia’s military-industrial complex and specializes in the production of short-range air defense missile systems. Direct hits on Building No. 1 at Site No. 1 have been confirmed. A fire was recorded. The results of the strike are being clarified," the statement reads.

Attack on the refinery in the Saratov region

In addition to the first strike, today, units of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, targeted the Saratovorgsintez oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region.

"The facilities of this refinery are used by the occupiers to supply fuel and lubricants to Russian military units involved in the armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff specified.

They added that a hit on the territory of the facility was confirmed. Technological installations were damaged, and a fire broke out. The results of the strike are still being clarified.
