Explosions near Khmelnytskyi NPP: Was it Russian target?
The situation is unknown whether the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) was the target of the Russians during the Shahed nocturnal attack yesterday because understanding the enemy's intentions can only be achieved when there are hits, according to Yurii Ihnat, the Spokesperson of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Yesterday, we released information about the destruction of the Shaheds. There were 11 of them. You understand that there can be damage due to the work of air defense. After all, everything shot down from above falls," said Ihnat.
Therefore, he stated that understanding the enemy's intentions can only be determined when there are hits.
"Fortunately, we had successful operations yesterday when all the 'Shaheds' were destroyed. But, as you can see, there are cases when such things happen as a result of the work of air defense," added the spokesperson.
Russian attack on October 25
Yesterday, on October 25, Russian occupiers again launched Shahed kamikaze drones over Ukraine during the night.
In total, 11 drones were recorded in the airspace of our country, all of which were shot down by air defense forces. However, debris fell to the ground.
Later, it was revealed that the enemy struck the territory near the Khmelnytskyi NPP. As a result, power supply disruptions occurred in the cities of Slavuta and Netishyn.
The explosions did not affect the operation of the NPP, but buildings on the station's premises were damaged.
According to Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the enemy's strike on the territory near the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant is a traditional Russian scare tactic involving a nuclear incident.
