Several explosions were heard during an air raid alarm tonight, January 6 in the Khmelnytskyi region, according to Suspilne and the deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, Serhiy Tyurin.

Earlier, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the threat of using kamikaze-type attack drones, such as Shahed, in the Khmelnytskyi region. It was reported that the kamikaze drone was moving towards Starokostyantyniv, but changed its course several times in the area of the regional center.

Later, Tyurin noted that air defense forces were active in the region. According to him, fortunately, there were no casualties.

Russian strikes in the Khmelnytskyi region

In recent months, Russian forces have frequently attempted to attack the Khmelnytskyi region using kamikaze drones and rockets.

On the evening of December 31, Russian forces launched drone strikes on the Khmelnytskyi region. As a result of the attack, a child suffered injuries to the thoracic spine, which were visibly open, and the child was hospitalized. Additionally, a fire broke out in a private garage during the attack, but it was promptly extinguished.

It was also reported that during a massive rocket attack on December 29 over the region, two rockets were successfully intercepted. Furthermore, several communities in the region suffered damage, with over 10 private residences, a kindergarten, a cultural center, and a library being affected.
