Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 9: +1,050 troops and 68 artillery systems

Over the past day, from July 8 to 9, Russian forces lost another 1,050 soldiers on the front line. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 68 artillery systems, 227 drones, and 119 vehicles, according to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to July 9, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 1,029,660 (+1050) people wounded/killed;
- tanks - 12,000 (5);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,969 (+2);
- artillery systems - 33,102 (+68);
- MLRS - 1,434;
- air defense systems - 1,193 (+1);
- aircraft - 421;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 44,457 (+227);
- cruise missiles - 3,439;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 54,575 (+119);
- special equipment - 3,929 (+2).
Frontline situation
As of the evening of July 8, there were 148 combat engagements on the front line. The highest number of enemy attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions.
