Russia attacks Khmelnytskyi region with drones, injuring child
Yesterday evening, on December 31, Russian forces attacked Khmelnytskyi region with drones. A child was injured in the attack, according to the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration.
"As a result of the attack, a child suffered injuries in the form of an open chest spine injury. The kid was hospitalized," the report says.
A fire broke out in a private garage, which was promptly extinguished. Air defense systems were operational in the region.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces' air defense neutralized 6 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type in the region," added the Regional Administration.
Drone attacks on Ukraine on New Year's night
Russian forces unleashed a record number of kamikaze drones on Ukraine on the night of December 31 to January 1. According to spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk, Russia deployed around 60 UAVs in the responsibility zone of the Operational Command South. Explosions were reported in Mykolaiv and the Kherson region. Additionally, Russian forces attacked Odesa and its surrounding areas with kamikaze drones, resulting in casualties. Drone debris caused fires at the Shukhevych Museum and in one of the dormitories in Lviv. In total, occupiers struck Ukraine with 90 drones and 8 missiles on New Year's night. Air defense successfully downed 87 drones.
