Russians attacked Odesa with drones at night: Fires broke out, 1 killed
Russian troops attacked Odesa and the region with kamikaze drones tonight, January 1. The attack left one dead and one wounded, states the head of the Odesa military administration, Oleh Kiper.
"On New Year's Eve, Russian terrorists insidiously attacked Odesa with strike drones. The air defense forces are engaged in combat operations. Unfortunately, there have been hits by the wreckage of downed drones. Fires broke out in residential buildings in different districts of the city," Kiper said in a statement.
According to him, the enemy attack resulted in one death, and there are wounded among the residents of the damaged buildings, their number is being clarified. All relevant services are working at the scene.
Russian attack on Ukraine on New Year's Eve
Late in the evening of December 31, Russian troops launched several groups of Shahed-type kamikaze drones across Ukraine from the south. The explosions were heard in Mykolaiv, Odesa, as well as in the Kherson region and the Dnipro region.
Last night, Russian troops also launched kamikaze drones and missiles into Ukraine. Explosions were heard in several eastern, northern, and central regions.
For example, last night, Russians attacked the central part of Kharkiv. In particular, the Kharkiv Palace Hotel and a residential building were hit. There are 26 reported casualties.
In addition, during the air raid, explosions were heard in the Cherkasy region and Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of an attack by enemy drones.
