In Belarus, explosions were heard near the city of Gomel on the night of February 13, and a burning object was seen falling in the sky. This happened against the backdrop of another Russian drone strike on Ukraine, local Telegram channels report.

According to Gomel's social media, residents of the central and northeastern parts of the city reported seeing the wreckage of an aerial target or targets fall to the ground.

"Around 12:32 a.m., an aircraft was shot down over Gomel. The fall coincided with a massive Russian air attack on the territory of Ukraine. Neighboring Chernihiv region is also under attack," reads the publication of the TV channel Flagshtok - Gomelshchina.

There are speculations on the Internet that some Russian Shaheds, which Russia launched today to strike at the territory of Ukraine, got lost and ended up over Gomel. Russian kamikaze drones have penetrated Belarusian airspace before.

Russian Shaheds fly into Belarus

On the night of January 28, a Russian attack drone was shot down by air defense systems in the Mozyr district of Belarus. This Shahed drone flew into Belarusian airspace against the backdrop of a Russian drone attack on Ukraine.

This is not the first time that kamikaze drones have been spotted near this Belarusian city, which were launched by the Russian army for air strikes in Ukraine. The drones flew into the territory of Belarus during maneuvers.

According to monitoring groups, almost four hundred Russian Shahed-type kamikaze drones flew into the airspace of Belarus last year, which Russia used to attack Ukraine.

On the night of January 8 this year, during another Russian drone attack on the territory of Ukraine, 17 Shahed drones flew into the airspace of Belarus.
