An explosion occurred in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, temporarily occupied by Russian troops, on Friday morning, October 13, according to the Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov.

"Explosion in Melitopol. Either the enemy air defense proves its uniqueness or Russian occupation forces are facing new challenges," he wrote.

Melitopol

The situation in Melitopol has been dire since the Russian occupation began in February 2022. During the invaders' encroachment on Ukrainian territory, the city fell under Russian military control. Throughout the occupation, the enemy has established multiple bases and deployment points for troops and equipment within the city.

Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a strike on a Russians' secret base in temporarily occupied Melitopol. As a result of the missile attack, several Russian commanders sustained injuries. Despite its status as a rear area, Melitopol, like other occupied cities in the Zaporizhzhia region, has witnessed mysterious deaths among the occupiers.
