Explosion in Kyiv region leaves injured as medics rush them to capital

Damage to railway infrastructure was reported in the Kyiv region following an overnight explosion, according to a Telegram post by Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. Specialists are already working to repair the damage, with backup train routes and passenger assistance organized.
The incident occurred in the Fastiv district during the night of September 14. Railway workers and emergency services were deployed to restore train operations.
For passengers of train No. 73 (Kharkiv–Przemyśl), an alternative route was arranged: part of the travelers were transported by bus to Kyiv, from where they continued their journey on a train rerouted around the damaged section.
Three women on board the train required medical assistance due to acute stress reactions. An emergency medical team was dispatched to accompany passengers to Kyiv.
During repair works, long-distance trains are being rerouted through Myronivka or Korosten, causing schedule changes. However, railway staff are expediting services and manually coordinating transfers to minimize inconvenience.
To prevent disruptions in suburban services, Ukrzaliznytsia has organized regular shuttle operations between Boyarka and Kyiv on Sunday. Passengers can check the updated schedule on the company’s official platforms.
Residents of the Kyiv region reported hearing explosions, though they were not linked to an air attack. No hostile aerial targets were detected, and no air raid alert was declared.
As a result of the damage near Kyiv caused by the emergency overnight on September 14, several trains passing through Boyarka station have been temporarily rerouted.
