Explosion at Turkish explosives plant leaves casualties and injuries
On December 24, an explosion occurred at an explosives manufacturing plant in the town of Kavakli, Türkiye. More than 10 people are reported dead, according to CNN Türk.
The governor of the Balikesir province, İsmail Ustaoğlu, said that the explosion had taken place at the explosives plant in Kavakli. As a result, there are casualties and injuries. Many fire brigades have been dispatched to the region.
Preliminary reports indicate that 12 people were killed in the explosion at the plant, and 3 people were injured. A rescue operation is underway to determine how many people might still be inside the plant, as the building collapsed after the explosion.
At the same time, Ustaoğlu stated that the possibility of sabotage is excluded, and there is no risk of another explosion. According to media reports, the explosion occurred in the section where capsules are produced by the company Zsr Explosives.
Earlier, it was reported that a medical helicopter crashed in Türkiye on December 22. Four people were killed in the accident.
