Explosion at Kyiv bus depot: Casualties reported, people feared trapped under rubble
An explosion occurred at a bus depot in Kyiv on September 8. People may be trapped under the rubble, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.
"In the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, an explosion of currently unknown origin occurred at a bus depot," Klitschko said.
According to the mayor, a two-story building has been partially destroyed, but there is no fire.
"People may be trapped under the rubble. Emergency services are already on the scene," Klitschko added.
Images of the explosion's aftermath at the facility in Kyiv are already being shared online.
Two dead
At the site of the explosion at the Kyiv enterprise, two fatalities have already been confirmed.
"Preliminarily, two people have been found dead. People may still be trapped under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. All emergency services are on the scene," said the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Three dead
Rescuers have soon removed another victim from the rubble.
"Rescuers have recovered another body. As of now, there are three confirmed deaths. The search and rescue operation is ongoing," reported the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Incident details
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), the report of the explosion on Vasylkivska Street was received by rescuers at 10:12.
"A two-story building at the bus depot has been partially destroyed. People are likely trapped under the rubble—information is being updated. Thirty-one rescuers and eight units of equipment are working on the site," the agency added.

Earlier, reports of an explosion in Kyiv emerged online. At the time, no air raid alert was declared in the capital. Local media reported that, following the explosion, authorities had restricted traffic on Vasylkivska Street.
There were previous reports online, suggesting an explosion at a heating plant in Kyiv on June 22. However, at that time, city officials denied the information.
