Former head of the Ukraine's Presidential Office Andriy Yermak was supposed to fly to Miami this weekend to discuss certain details of the US peace plan with President Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Axios reports.

The outlet recalled that until his resignation, Yermak led Ukraine's negotiating team on a peace agreement with Russia. Last weekend, he held talks with US representatives in Geneva, which helped to make changes to the 28-point peace plan.

Yermak was scheduled to travel to the US this weekend to negotiate the details of the peace plan. But his resignation appears to have derailed those plans.

"Yermak was expected to arrive in Miami this weekend together with several of Zelensky's advisers and hold talks with Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Ukrainian officials said," the outlet wrote.

Sources noted that the goal was to finalize the arrangements between Ukraine and the United States before Witkoff and Kushner travel to Moscow to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Another interlocutor said that despite Yermak's resignation, Ukraine's position remains unchanged.

On November 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that after Yermak's resignation, Ukraine's delegation at the talks would be represented by the Chief of the General Staff, intelligence officials, the National Security and Defense Council, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On November 27, Yermak announced a new round of talks with the United States, though he did not specify either the date or the venue. Zelenskyy likewise said on November 28 that the talks would take place soon.

Searches at Yermak's residence and his resignation

On November 28, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and prosecutors from the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) conducted searches at the residence of Andriy Yermak, then head of the Presidential Office. Yermak later confirmed this, saying he was cooperating with investigators.

The searches may be linked to the Midas investigation — a large corruption case in Ukraine's energy sector. More details about the searches, the scandal, and the background can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.

Although NABU did not announce any suspicions following the searches, Yermak submitted his resignation letter on the evening of November 28. Zelenskyy accepted it.
