Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 12: +1,260 troops and 60 artillery systems

Russian forces sustained further losses in personnel and military hardware over the past 24 hours. Ukraine's military released its latest daily estimate of Moscow's battlefield casualties and destroyed equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 12, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
Ukraine struck multiple Russian military and energy targets on August 11, hitting a $50 million Buk-M3 air defense system, a command post and supply depots, while fires broke out at oil refineries in Russia’s Khabarovsk and Orenburg regions. Witnesses said the Komsomolsk refinery was targeted by Ukrainian drones.
Meanwhile, Russia launched a massive overnight attack on Zaporizhzhia on August 11, killing at least six civilians and injuring 19 others. The attack involved North Korean ballistic missiles, Zircon missiles, and guided aerial bombs.
