Ukraine strikes key Russian military targets, including Buk-M3 system and command posts

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of key Russian military targets behind the front lines and along the battlefield. The targets destroyed included an air defense system, command posts, and supply depots, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine are systematically striking key enemy targets, consistently reducing its ability to conduct combat operations and maintain the functioning of its military formations,” the General Staff said.
In particular, on August 11, Ukrainian forces struck:
- a Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system near the village of Topoli in the Luhansk region. The system is valued at approximately $50 million;
- a Russian command and observation post near Terebreno in Russia’s Belgorod region;
- Russian military supply depots in Rovenky, Luhansk region.
In addition, on August 10, Ukrainian Defense Forces units carried out precision strikes on six Russian drone control posts. The enemy facilities were destroyed near the settlements of Shevchenko Pershe, Komar and Vesele in the Donetsk region; Khodyakovka in Russia’s Kursk region; and Zaliznychne and Nesteryanka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
“Work against key targets continues. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are increasing their effectiveness and weakening the enemy’s offensive capabilities,” the General Staff said.
Other strikes
Earlier, on the night of August 11, Ukraine’s Defense Forces attacked the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Russia’s Orenburg region.
Ukrainian drones also struck the Komsomolsk oil refinery in Russia’s Khabarovsk region that night.
The facility is considered one of the key suppliers of petroleum products to Russia’s Far East. Its designed capacity is 8.5 million tons of crude oil per year.
In addition, a Wildberries logistics complex caught fire in Russia’s Voronezh region on the night of August 11. Witnesses reported explosions, while the company confirmed that employees had been evacuated.
