Heatwave continues in Ukraine and many other countries. With significant increases in environmental temperature, people's appetites decrease. Scientists claim that digestion and nutrient absorption is an energy-consuming process that generates heat.

Fitness coach Viktor Mandziak talked about what is recommended to eat and drink during hot weather.

What to eat in hot weather

According to the coach, even if you don't have an appetite during the heat, you still need to eat because, even if you lose weight, you will eventually regain the lost kilograms.

"Remember: any weight loss due to stress, being in love, or heat, is temporary. As soon as normal living conditions resume, without adequate behavioral patterns (healthy lifestyle habits), you will gain it all back. I guarantee it!" Viktor said.

According to Viktor, the human body needs various substances for life during the heat.

"Force yourself to eat meat, fish, dairy products, eggs. And when you have no appetite, protein bars, and shakes come in handy. What could be simpler than gulping down 300 milliliters of tasty sweet liquid?" the expert said.

It is also very important to maintain proper hydration.

"And, of course, drink water. Drink enough. Listen to your body's signals: catch the early signs of thirst and drink up. Carry a water bottle in your bag, keep one in the car, tie one to your head and stick a straw in your mouth. If you are a masochist and run at midday, slightly salt the water, as you lose a lot of sodium with the heavy sweating," advises the fitness guru.

What to eat during constant power outages?

Mandziak said that not all food needs to be stored at low temperatures.

Protein can be easily obtained from eggs. Protein powder does not spoil because it contains no water. Instead of meat, you can eat legumes. They are not only very healthy but also rich in high-quality protein, especially soybeans.

Nuts, though not easily digestible, can provide you with 450-500 calories from 100 grams of peanuts or cashews.

Fruits, berries, and vegetables are mega-healthy foods that also do not need refrigeration. The same goes for whole grain bread and various cereals.

Wafers and cookies in the heat are not the best idea, though they do not require refrigeration. Dose such treats.
