Europe urgently needs its own plan on Ukraine, or others to decide, Tusk says

Europe urgently needs to develop its own action plan on Ukraine and its own security. Otherwise, others will make the decisions, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk states on X.
"Europe urgently needs its own plan of action concerning Ukraine and our security, or else other global players will decide about our future," said Tusk.
The Polish Prime Minister added that, in such a case, decisions would be "not necessarily in line with our own interests."
"This plan must be prepared now. There’s no time to lose," emphasized the Polish PM.
Concerns in Europe about Trump
Western media reports that Europe fears US President Donald Trump may exclude them from negotiations on Ukraine but will make them pay for Ukraine's reconstruction and send peacekeepers.
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has suggested that Europe could participate in peace talks regarding Ukraine.
Additionally, some EU countries have expressed surprise over Trump's conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, with some criticizing the US president for engaging with Putin.
In Germany, it is believed that Europe must be involved in negotiations on Ukraine, especially if Trump wants European peacekeepers deployed in Ukraine.
