The European Union has allocated €4.36 billion to Ukraine for budgetary and defense needs under the Ukraine Support Loan, according to Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

The prime minister said €3.7 billion is macro-financial assistance, while €660 million is earmarked for defense.

"We will direct the funds toward priority budget expenditures and the most urgent needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces," Koretskyi stressed.

He also noted that amid ongoing Russian attacks, this support is critical to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and maintaining financial stability.

"I thank European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis and Andrius Kubilius, as well as all EU member states for their consistent support for Ukraine," Koretskyi added.

The prime minister said that active efforts are underway with European allies to ensure that the remaining funding is delivered on time and in full.

Notably, the Ukraine Support Loan is part of a broader EU financial assistance program for Ukraine for 2026–2027, with a total budget of up to €90 billion.

Through this mechanism, Ukraine will be able not only to finance its most urgent budgetary needs but also to count on more stable and predictable funding in the medium term.

As earlier reported, Ukraine could receive €30 billion from the EU by the end of the year, but there is one condition.

It was also recently reported that the European Union had allocated an additional €2.86 billion to Ukraine in defense assistance.
