By the end of 2026, Ukraine could receive approximately €30 billion in financial assistance from the EU. This requires the implementation of reforms, states European Commission Spokesperson Balázs Újvári at a briefing.

"So first of all, before we talk about 2027, we need to talk about 2026. If you look at what we have in the pipeline, you get about a figure that amounts to around €30 billion this year for Ukraine," Újvári noted.

According to him, for these funds to be transferred to Ukraine, it is necessary to continue implementing the relevant reforms.

He also added that within the framework of defense assistance, the European Commission needs to receive agreements that form the basis of the agreed delivery schedules.

EU assistance to Ukraine

Since 2022, the EU and its member states have provided Ukraine with support totaling €231.5 billion. Of this, €3.8 billion came from funds obtained from frozen Russian assets.

Just last week, it became known that the EU had allocated an additional €2.86 billion for Ukraine as part of defense assistance.

The European Commission emphasized that against the backdrop of increased Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, European assistance remains crucial for strengthening Ukraine's defense.
