The European Union is closely following the personnel changes in Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers. The EU expects that the cooperation will remain at the same high level, according to European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano.

He noted that the EU is observing Ukraine not only in the context of the war with Russia but also in terms of its internal political evolution, and has "taken note" of the replacement of several ministers.

According to Stano, it is not the EU's role to comment on specific appointments to government positions. However, for the bloc, it is important to have good and reliable partners on the other side, along with a strong and stable governance system.

"We hope that we can continue to work with the new Ukrainian counterparts in the same way as we did with the outgoing ministers,” emphasized the European Commission spokesperson.

Stano also recalled that EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell highly praised the work of former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, noting that they maintained constant communication.

"We can only commend Kuleba for everything he did in times of great difficulty for Ukraine," he added.

What happened before

This week, the Cabinet of Ministers is undergoing a significant reshuffle. A number of ministers have resigned, and some of them will be appointed to new positions.

In particular, on September 5, the Rada supported the resignation of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. First Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has already been appointed to replace him.
