The European Union plans to consider the use of revenues from frozen Russian assets and the adoption of the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions at its next summit, Politico reports.

The Defense Ministers will meet on Thursday and Friday.

They will discuss strengthening military support for Kyiv and assistance to the Ukrainian arms industry.

The event will be attended by EU Chief Diplomat Kaja Kallas and NATO Deputy Secretary General.

A meeting of Foreign Ministers is scheduled for Saturday.

According to the Danish presidency, key topics include pressure on Russia to force Moscow to agree to a ceasefire and discussion of possible uses for the proceeds from frozen assets.

Ukraine currently receives income from these funds, while the process of confiscating approximately €275 billion has effectively reached an impasse.

Sanctions against Russia

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the EU has already introduced 18 packages of sanctions against Russia, and the 19th is already in preparation.

In addition, sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk said that Ukraine had submitted its proposals to Brussels on what should be included in the new list of restrictive measures.t
