EU ministers to discuss grain exports from Ukraine today - Bloomberg
Ministers of Agriculture from EU countries will discuss how to support the export of Ukrainian grain amid Russian attacks on Ukraine's port infrastructure during a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, July 25, according to Bloomberg.
The ministers continue to assess the damages caused by the aggressor country due to the strikes on Ukraine's port infrastructure.
During the meeting, they will also consider the objections of several Eastern European countries that have stated they do not plan to allow the import of Ukrainian grain after the current ban ends in mid-September.
According to Bloomberg, wheat prices have reached their highest level in five months after Russia attacked a port on the Danube River to block the path of Ukrainian grain exports to global markets.
Russia's exit from the "grain deal"
Recall that last week, and the Kremlin announced its exit from the "grain deal," which was in effect for a year and allowed the safe export of Ukrainian foodstuffs from Black Sea ports.
After leaving the "grain deal," Russia has launched nightly attacks on southern Ukraine, including missile strikes on Odesa and its region.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked Reni's river port on the Danube on the night of July 24 located near the border with Romania.
As a result, world wheat prices have risen to their highest level in five months.
