Yesterday, Russia launched air strikes on Kharkiv, killing at least 6 people and injuring 97 others. The European Union is shocked by the attack, states Josep Borrell, senior EU diplomat.

“Shocking toll from Russian bombs against a residential building in Kharkiv yesterday,” he wrote.

Borrell emphasized that this is why, during informal meetings with EU ministers, Ukraine again asked to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons in self-defense.

In the second part of the post, he wrote that those Russian journalists who publish truthful news about the war are now being sentenced to prison.

“The EU condemns the use of censorship laws to criminalize and imprison those who speak against the war and expose Russian atrocities,” the EU diplomat emphasized.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy began his address today with the Kharkiv tragedy.

In his speech, he called on the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to permit Ukraine to perform long-range attacks and long-range shells and missiles.

He noted that clearing Ukrainian skies of Russian bombs would be a strong step to force Russia to seek an end to the war and a just peace.

The President emphasized that the above decisions should not be postponed, because these decisions are exactly what can most properly influence events.
