The European Commissioner for Defense praised Ukraine's deep strikes inside Russian territory.
"It's remarkable what Ukraine managed to achieve during the recent half a year with deep strikes," Kubilius said.
According to him, these developments should send a clear message to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his inner circle.
"Such kind of development should be a clear argument for Putin and his surroundings — that he is not able to achieve any significant development in his war aims, and that is the moment when real negotiations on just peace should start," the commissioner stressed.
€90 billion loan for Ukraine
The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with a €90 billion loan as Russia's full-scale invasion continues. Of that amount, €60 billion is earmarked for defense.
Earlier this week, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited Kyiv and announced an agreement with Ukraine on the use of drones.
It is worth noting that in June, Putin said he would not negotiate on Ukraine's terms despite the increasing number of Ukrainian strikes on strategic targets deep inside Russian territory.
Later, the Kremlin leader also rejected the idea of a ceasefire along the front line because, according to Reuters, he wants to seize the entire Donbas.
