Estonian PM says sending troops to Ukraine is signal to Russia that nothing is off the table
Western countries should consider all available options to help Ukraine. And the willingness to send troops to Ukraine is a signal to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, according to Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.
She says all countries have realized that they must do everything to ensure that Ukraine wins and Russia loses this war.
Regarding French President Emmanuel Macron's idea of sending troops to Ukraine, the Prime Minister thinks this is also a signal that they are sending to Russia that they are not ruling out anything.
At the same time, Kallas believes such decisions should be discussed behind closed doors.
According to the Prime Minister, the partners should now focus on other important issues, such as the purchase of artillery ammunition, in particular outside Europe.
What preceded this
French President Emmanuel Macron has not ruled out the possibility that NATO could send troops to help Ukraine. The main problem, he said, is that there was currently no consensus on this issue.
Some NATO countries have already opposed this idea, including Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy.
At the same time, some countries are ready to consider this possibility, such as Lithuania and Latvia.
