Estonian intelligence reports accelerated Russian advance in Ukraine
Russian Armed Forces, as before, maintain the initiative in Ukraine, with the pace of their offensive operations increasing again, states Ants Kiviselg, Head of the Estonian Defense Forces (EDF) Intelligence Center.
Colonel Kiviselg reports that the pace of Russian operations in Ukraine, which had previously decreased, has started to increase again. This is especially true for ground forces. However, despite the increased pace of operations, Russia's operational and tactical objectives, as before, remain unfulfilled.
The Kupiansk-Lymansk axis In the Luhansk region, the main activity was observed along the line of Kupiansk-Kreminna-Svatove. Kiviselg reports that the Russian Armed Forces had seized additional territories in the Kupiansk and Lyman districts. According to him, the likely goal of Russia in the Kupiansk district is to control the stretch of the Oskil River and the stretch of the Zherebets River towards Lyman.
"While the Russian Armed Forces maintain the initiative along the entire front line, the Russian advance towards Lyman over the past week has been quite minor, and Russia has not reached the aforementioned river lines," he says.
Donetsk region
On the Donetsk front, the main combat actions are unfolding in the areas of Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
"In both regions, the armed formations of the Russian Federation have advanced. Fortunately, this is to a very limited extent. There are some shifts in the northwest and west of the Bakhmut district. There have been no significant changes on the front," he says.
According to him, in the Avdiivka area, Ukrainians managed to create two lines of defense, thereby preventing further Russian advancement. Russia has also achieved minor successes in the Donetsk region.
Southern front of Ukraine
In the direction of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the activity was somewhat lower compared to the previous week.
"The greatest activity was observed in the directions of Robotyne and Verbove, where the Russian Federation attempted to advance," Kiviselg says.
On the left bank of the Dnipro, Ukrainian armed forces continue to hold the bridgeheads created there and repel Russian attacks in this area.
Frontline situation
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops repelled 23 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction, held their positions, and repulsed assaults by the occupation forces in the Kherson direction.
The commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Oleksandr Tarnavsky, stated that Russian occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.
