On August 10, the oil refinery LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka was targeted in a special operation by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR). The refinery is located in the Russian Republic of Komi, more than 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine, citing sources within Ukraine's Defense Intelligence.

The targeted oil refinery is involved in supplying fuel and lubricants to Russian forces.

Local Telegram channels reported that residents heard several loud explosions near the refinery. Fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency services then arrived at the site.

Some local sources also said that at least one tanker at the refinery was breached due to the explosions.

Residents additionally reported power outages and loss of mobile internet in the city.

Sources in Ukrainian intelligence added that drones struck a fuel storage tank, causing its contents to spill. They also damaged a gas and gas condensate processing unit used to produce propane, butane, and gasoline.

Attacks on Russia

Earlier today in Russia's Ukhta, a series of loud explosions were followed by problems with electricity and internet access.

Emergency services were reported operating at the oil refinery.

The nearest point on the Ukraine-Russia border is more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukhta.

On the night of August 10, unknown drones attacked Russia's Saratov region. Locals reported explosions and a fire near an oil refinery in the regional center.

Shortly before, drones struck Russia's Krasnodar Krai, targeting an oil refinery and a military base.

On August 8, Ukraine's General Staff officially confirmed that Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the Afipsky oil refinery. The drone strike caused a fire in the gas and gas condensate processing unit.
