A series of loud explosions rocked Russia's Ukhta today, causing power outages and internet disruptions across the city. Emergency services are reportedly active at the local oil refinery, reports local Telegram channels.

According to these channels, after several loud blasts near Sevastopolskaya Street, fire trucks headed one after another toward the airport.

Residents say there were multiple explosions. Emergency services are now working near the Ukhta Oil Refinery. Local sources also report a rupture in a tank at the refinery.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the explosions may have been caused by a drone attack. However, no official information is available yet. The Unified Duty Dispatch Service stated there is no fire or emissions at the refinery. They urged residents to remain calm.

In addition, evacuation has started at the Yarmarka shopping center. Witnesses say it could be closed by the end of the day.

Locals also report outages of electricity and mobile internet.

Similar internet disruptions have been recorded in Syktyvkar. Witnesses say shutdowns across the Komi Republic are happening in areas near strategic sites, including factories, within a 5–10 km radius.

Local authorities warn of possible "drone threats" and ask citizens to exercise caution.

Residents have shared videos allegedly showing drones in flight. Despite no official confirmation, these clips have already spread widely online.

As of 4:05 PM local time, temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures are in place at Ukhta airport.

It is worth noting that the distance in a straight line from the Ukrainian border with Russia to Ukhta, located in the Komi Republic, exceeds 1,500 kilometers.

Earlier today, on the night of August 10, unidentified drones attacked Russia's Saratov region. Russians reported explosions and a fire in the regional center near an oil refinery.

On the night of August 7, unknown drones targeted Russia's Krasnodar region. At that time, Russians reported attacks on an oil refinery and a military facility.

On the morning following that, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed that Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Afipsky Oil Refinery. The drone hits caused a fire in a technological unit processing gas and gas condensate.
