Erdogan reveals his view on future of war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine will not end soon. This is not very good news, states Turkish President Recep Erdoğan.
He said that he didn’t really believe that the war in Ukraine would end soon and that this was not very good news.
Erdoğan also expressed his belief that Europe cannot provide economic assistance to Ukraine indefinitely, and that Ukraine cannot compete with Russia economically.
“Our hope that the support will continue,” the president said.
Erdogan’s peace initiatives
Earlier, Erdoğan announced his intention to help organize a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Türkiye to discuss ending the war.
In August, Erdoğan and Zelenskyy discussed preparations for a possible meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian leaders to negotiate an end to the conflict.
However, in early September, the Turkish leader stated that Putin and Zelenskyy were not ready for a meeting.
On September 25, a meeting is scheduled between Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump. The leaders plan to discuss trade between the countries and major deals concerning the supply of F-16 and F-35 fighter jets.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that in negotiations, Russia no longer demands control over the territory of four Ukrainian regions.
