Erdoğan seeks meeting with Trump at White House in April - Bloomberg

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wants to meet with US President Donald Trump. He expects the meeting to take place in April, Bloomberg reports.
According to the agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is seeking to organize a meeting with Donald Trump at the White House, possibly in late April, according to Turkish officials familiar with the matter.
Erdoğan likely considers strengthening the strategic partnership between Ankara and Washington to be critical to regional stability. This is because Türkiye wants to become a prominent mediator in resolving issues ranging from Ukraine to Syria.
However, Erdoğan's office declined to comment.
The other day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke on the phone with US President Donald Trump. The conversation, in particular, concerned Russia's war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Erdoğan said that Türkiye wants to see a constructive response from Russia to the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine. He emphasized that he considers Ukraine's agreement to cease fire with Russia for a month to be positive and important. Erdoğan also supported the call by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron for an air and sea truce between Russia and Ukraine.
Bloomberg also wrote that Türkiye could send its military to Ukraine. However, Ankara will not participate in any peacekeeping mission unless it is involved in all consultations and preparations for its formation.
