Ukraine, on November 29th, was compelled to begin importing electricity from Poland and Romania due to a deficit in the energy system, says the head of the board of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, during a television marathon.

He noted that the deficit in the energy system was observed due to a sharp increase in consumption. This occurred after several hundred settlements regained electricity supply.

Kudrytskyi mentioned that such instances of increased consumption after power outages were quite common last year.

"Therefore, today we had to seek emergency assistance from Poland and Romania to balance the system. And now we continue to attract it from two neighboring countries," he emphasized.

According to the head of Ukrenergo, the call for economical electricity consumption remains in effect.
