Ending Russia's war against Ukraine is 'more difficult than people would have any idea' - Trump

US President Donald Trump believes that ending Russia's war against Ukraine is difficult due to problems in his relationships with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the American leader said at a press conference following the NATO summit in The Hague.
Trump noted that his promise to end Russia's war against Ukraine within 24 hours of his inauguration was sarcasm.
"Because it's more difficult than people would have any idea. Vladimir Putin has been more difficult, frankly. I had some problems with Zelenskyy ... It's been more difficult than other wars," the president added.
Trump's promises
Donald Trump promised to end Russia's war against Ukraine within 24 hours during his US election campaign.
After his inauguration, Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg stated that he aimed to find a peace solution between Ukraine and Russia within 100 days.
Despite two rounds of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia held in Istanbul since then, there has been no significant progress toward peace.
During the talks, the two warring countries only agreed on major prisoner exchanges. The most recent such exchange took place on June 20.
