Elon Musk, a controversial businessman and public figure, agrees with entrepreneur and investor David Sacks that Ukraine lost Crimea and Donbas and if it doesn't negotiate a peace deal now, it will lose other territories, according to his statement on X.

"Ukraine has lost Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, most of Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia forever. If it doesn’t negotiate a peace deal now, it will also lose Kharkiv, Odesa, the rest of Kherson, and more," he wrote, adding that "the flag wavers who think they’re helping Ukraine are just dismembering it."

Elon Musk reacted to the statement, writing "Your assessment is accurate."

Musk's stance on the war

It's not the first time Musk publicly admitted his stance that Ukraine needed to sacrifice its territory to bring peace and "restore normal relations with Russia." He also reportedly acknowledged to Pentagon officials that he had a conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Starlink scandal

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Elon Musk's company provided Ukraine with Starlink terminals to ensure communication on the frontlines and border regions. According to recent data, Ukraine received 42,000 terminals donated by SpaceX and its Ukrainian partners.

In September, there was a media leak that Musk secretly ordered engineers to turn off the Starlink satellite network near the Crimean coast last year to prevent Ukraine from launching a covert attack on the Russian navy. Musk's decision was driven by acute fears of a Russian nuclear response, which Musk reportedly discussed with senior Russian officials.

Later, Musk himself stated that he did not issue such an order to his experts because Starlink did not operate there. The head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that satellite internet did not work near Crimea for a certain period.
