Polish President Andrzej Duda is planning to meet with the winner of the presidential election, Karol Nawrocki, to discuss his position on Ukraine, LRT reports.

Duda was asked whether changes in Polish-Ukrainian relations are possible given that Nawrocki opposes Ukraine's membership in NATO and the European Union.

"I will talk to him about this. As you know, I have a different opinion, but it is based on my presidential experience, that is, almost 10 years as president of Poland, on all the knowledge I have accumulated over the years, and I will definitely want to share it, at least to some extent, in a conversation with the president-elect," the Polish leader emphasized.

He clarified that when Nawrocki officially becomes president, he will carefully consider the international situation, the state of Ukraine, and relations between Poland and Ukraine.

Duda emphasized that people's point of view depends on where they sit. And the chair of the Polish president is a very specific place, and from this chair, the world looks a little different, he noted.

Nawrocki is against Ukraine's accession to NATO

On May 22, before the second round of the presidential election in Poland, Karol Nawrocki agreed to keep Ukraine out of NATO in exchange for support from the leader of the anti-Ukrainian Confederation, Slawomir Mentzen.

Yesterday, June 2, it became known that Nawrocki won the election with a minimal advantage.
