Polish President Andrzej Duda had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He emphasized that peace in Ukraine is possible only with the support of the United States, according to Duda's post on X.

"A few minutes ago, President Zelenskyy called me. We had a candid conversation on the heels of the recent meetings with General Kellogg and other developments," Duda wrote.

The Polish president conveyed to Zelenskyy that Poland believes there is no other way to stop the bloodshed and achieve lasting peace in Ukraine except with US support.

"For this reason, I suggested to President Zelenskyy to remain committed to the course of calm and constructive cooperation with President Donald Trump. I trust that good will and honesty form the foundation of the US negotiation strategy. I have no doubt that President Trump is guided by a deep sense of responsibility for global stability and peace," Duda noted.

Conflict between Trump and Zelenskyy

A conflict has recently erupted between American leader Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump claimed that Zelenskyy’s approval rating among Ukrainians was just 4%. However, internal polls indicate that trust in the Ukrainian President exceeds 50%.

In response, Zelenskyy said this narrative was being pushed by Russia and urged Trump not to repeat Moscow’s disinformation.

Additionally, Trump criticized Ukraine for not holding elections during the war, calling Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections".
