As the new day began, footage circulated on social media that allegedly showed the oil depot in Velikiye Luki being struck.

At the same time, regional governor Mikhail Vedernikov said unidentified drones had allegedly targeted civilian infrastructure facilities.

"UAVs are attacking civilian infrastructure in the city of Velikiye Luki. Please stay away from windows; if you are outside, take shelter in the nearest building or premises," he wrote on social media.

Shortly afterwards, more footage of the fire emerged, and Vedernikov reported that a fuel storage tank containing petroleum products had caught fire in the Pskov region.

Monitoring channels suggested the struck facility may be responsible for the storage and distribution of petroleum products. Public accounts stressed that, due to the importance of fuel for logistics, the site has strategic significance.

They also noted that a key railway connection used by Russia is located near the facility.
