First alert in Kazan

Head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andryushchenko, noted that this is the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine that an air raid alert has been sounded in Kazan (the capital of Tatarstan). The distance from the Ukrainian border to Kazan is approximately 1,200-1,500 kilometers.

The first siren sounded at 10:00 p.m. on April 9 — local residents described it as very loud. At 2:00 a.m. on April 10, a missile danger was announced again. Residents heard air defense systems in operation, but no details are being reported.

Explosions in Saransk, Gukovo, and Volgograd

In Saransk (Mordovia), after an air raid alert, a fire broke out, likely caused by a missile attack. In Gukovo (Rostov region), a powerful explosion occurred, followed by a fire — what exactly caught fire is unknown.

In Volgograd, local residents heard the hum of drones at low altitude and at least 5-7 explosions in the southern part of the city. The drones flew along the Volga River channel. In nearby Volzhsky, engine sounds were also heard, flashes were seen, and car alarms were triggered by the explosions.

Volgograd Airport has been closed for arrivals and departures since 11:47 p.m. on April 9 due to the threat of drone attacks.

This strike is one of a series of successful operations by the Defense Forces against Russian infrastructure. The day before, on April 8, the Ukrainian military attacked oil depots and positions of Bastion missile systems.

That same day, the Security Service of Ukraine drones struck an oil terminal in occupied Feodosia, as well as destroyed enemy ammunition depots and air defense systems.

On the night of April 9, drones hit repair and maintenance bases for occupation equipment near Alchevsk in the Luhansk region, causing a large fire.

In addition, the day before, Ukrainian marines carried out a unique operation: for the first time in history, they destroyed a bridge using British Malloy T-150 logistics drones.
