Drones attack Russia's Leningrad region: Dozens of flights canceled

Drone attacks have been reported in the Leningrad region. Explosions can be heard, according to ASTRA.
Drones were spotted in the areas of Gatchina, Vsevolozhsk, Kronstadt, and Volosovsky.
Residents reported in chat rooms that some drones were likely shot down, as they heard explosions.
Earlier, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko warned of the threat posed by UAVs.
As a result, Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg temporarily suspended arrivals and departures.
According to reports, more than 70 flights were delayed or canceled.
In addition, residents report that mobile internet service in St. Petersburg almost completely stopped working after the announcement of the drone threat.
Drone attack on Russia
On the night of July 23, 2025, explosions were heard in several regions of Russia as a result of a drone attack.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that between 9 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. Moscow time, air defenses supposedly took out 51 Ukrainian drones.
At the end of June, unknown drones struck the Atlas Combine oil depot in the Rostov region, which supplied fuel to the Russian army.
