Drone strike hits Russian Baltic port: Fire breaks out in Ust-Luga

On the night of March 25, the Leningrad region of Russia was massively attacked by drones. A fire broke out on the territory of the Ust-Luga port, according to Leningrad region governor Alexander Drozdenko.
According to the governor, Russian air defense systems allegedly destroyed 33 drones over the region. Rescuers are trying to extinguish the fire at the Ust-Luga port.
"According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Combat operations are ongoing," Drozdenko wrote.
The Ust-Luga port is one of the largest ports of Russia on the Baltic Sea and a key hub for the export of Russian oil products, located about 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This facility is of strategic importance for financing the Russian military machine.
In 2025, its cargo turnover amounted to 130.5 million tons. Crude oil, oil products, liquid chemicals, ammonia and urea, coal, mineral fertilizers, and others pass through the port.
Drone attacks in Russia
On the night of March 25, Belgorod was shaken by a series of powerful explosions. It became known that energy infrastructure facilities were seriously damaged as a result of the attack.
After recent drone attacks, Russia temporarily suspended oil exports through the ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga. The strikes caused fires and disruptions in infrastructure operations.
Also, on March 23, Ukrainian forces attacked strategic energy facilities of Russia — the oil terminal Transneft - port Primorsk and the oil refinery Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim.
Earlier, drones struck an oil terminal in the Krasnodar region of Russia. It was about a large Russian export terminal near the port of Taman.
