Drone resembling Russian Shahed falls in Kazakhstan – Media

In Kazakhstan, local residents found a drone resembling the Russian Shahed drone. It was discovered in the West Kazakhstan region, which borders Russia, Kazinform reports.
According to the outlet, the West Kazakhstan Police Department, together with authorized services, is conducting verification measures regarding the discovery of an object resembling an unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone was found in the Tiskalin district, which borders Russia.
"The object fell in a remote area, far from settlements, and was found in an intact condition with no visible damage. All circumstances of the event are being established," the agency writes.
The media also provided a photo of the drone, which indeed looks similar to a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle and even bears similar markings, although part of it is damaged.
Plane crash in Kazakhstan
On December 25, 2024, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane was flying from Baku to Grozny. However, the aircraft was unable to land in the Russian city. The plane then turned towards the Kazakh city of Aktau, where it crashed.
It later became known that the plane had been shot down by Russian air defense near Grozny, and it was prohibited from landing on Russian territory.
It is also reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev twice. During the conversations, the two leaders discussed the details of the plane crash.
