On the night of June 16, an oil depot caught fire in the village of Poltavskaya in the Krasnodar Krai region following a drone attack, according to the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters and OSINT sources.

The fire broke out after debris from a drone fell onto the oil depot grounds. Thirty-two people and seven pieces of equipment have been deployed to extinguish the fire.

Specialized and emergency services are on the scene.

Following the attack, the highway between the village of Poltavskaya and the hamlet of Trudobelikovskyi has been temporarily closed.

The Poltavskaya oil depot serves as an intermediate link between Lukoil’s oil refineries and the end-user network of gas stations.

Strikes on Russia’s oil infrastructure have been ongoing for several months now.

Among the latest was a strike on a facility in the Yaroslavl region, more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The consequences were felt even by drivers in Moscow and St. Petersburg—major gas station chains have imposed strict limits on gasoline and diesel.

According to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk, the port of Tuapse is no longer shipping oil—the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes are undermining the foundations of Russia’s main revenue-generating industry.
