DPRK raises security level due to fear of assassination attempt on Kim Jong Un
North Korea has intensified security measures to protect Kim Jong Un amid potential assassination threats. Pyongyang is reportedly installing communication-jamming systems and drone-detection equipment, citing Yonhap TV.
According to South Korean intelligence, North Korea has increased security around its leader, Kim Jong Un, due to concerns over a potential assassination attempt.
Additional communication-jamming technology is being deployed in North Korea, along with efforts to implement drone-detection systems. Intelligence indicates that Kim Jong Un's public appearances this year have risen by 60% compared to 2023.
It is also known that North Korea may be preparing for another reconnaissance satellite launch and is closely monitoring the possibility of a seventh nuclear test following the US presidential election.
North Korean troops and war in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 3,000 North Korean soldiers are already in Russia. Previously, reports indicated that North Korea had sent its elite Special Operations Forces, one of the world's most secretive units, to Russia.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that Russian and North Korean forces may be preparing for an offensive in Russia’s Kursk region, which could commence soon.
