Donald Trump blames Ukraine's airfield attacks for triggering Putin's massive attack

US President Donald Trump essentially blamed Ukraine for Russia's massive attack on the night of June 6, reports Reuters.
When asked about how the SBU's Spiderweb special operation against Russian strategic aviation affected the nature of the war, the White House chief noted that he had warned Kyiv about a revenge strike.
"They gave Putin a reason to go in and bomb the hell out of them last night. That’s the thing I didn’t like about it. When I saw it, I said, ‘Here we go, now it’s going to be a strike," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
Massive Russian attack
During the night of June 6, Russian forces launched a large-scale strike on most regions and cities across Ukraine.
Russia fired over 400 drones and more than 40 missiles of various types at the country. The attacks damaged apartment buildings, private homes, and industrial infrastructure. The hardest-hit areas were Kyiv, Ternopil, and Lutsk.
According to the latest data, a total of 4 people were killed and dozens were wounded.
The massive bombardment was an act of revenge in response to the SBU's Spiderweb operation, which damaged and destroyed over 40 Russian strategic aviation aircraft in total.
On the night of June 7, Russian forces are again launching a massive attack on Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones.
