Russia launches 407 drones and 44 missiles in overnight strike – Ukrainian Air Force

Russia launched a combined strike on Ukraine on the night of June 6. The occupiers launched 407 drones and about 44 missiles, Yurii Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported.
According to him, today the Russians used ballistic missiles, air- and ground-launched cruise missiles, as well as a large number of strike UAVs and decoy drones.
"In total, as many as 407 strike UAVs were used today by the Russians on the territory of our state. We also have data on the enemy’s use of 6 ballistic missiles. And 38 cruise missiles, most of which were destroyed," he said.
Ihnat noted that air defense forces shot down up to 30 missiles and up to 200 drones.
The spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clarified that the Russians attacked mainly from the northern regions and the entire mass of drones moved today in a "creeping advance" toward the western regions.
Clarification from the Ukrainian Air Force
The Ukrainian Air Force later provided updates about the massive overnight attack. According to the revised data, Russia launched:
- 407 drones;
- 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Kursk and Voronezh regions (Russia);
- 36 Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS/Tu-160MS strategic bombers over the Saratov region and the Caspian Sea;
- 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles from occupied Crimea;
- 1 Kh-31P anti-radiation missile from a tactical aircraft over the Black Sea.
Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 368 drones (199 were shot down, 169 were suppressed or lost due to electronic warfare), 4 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M), 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles, and 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Enemy munitions hit 13 locations, and debris from downed threats fell in 19 locations.
Kalibr missiles
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force had reported possible launches of Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea, based on preliminary information.
However, as they later clarified in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, no Kalibr missiles were launched during the night's assault. Instead, the attacks involved Iskander-K cruise missiles from Crimea and Kh-101 missiles from long-range bombers.
Russia's strike on Ukraine
Today, June 6, the Russian Federation carried out another massive strike on Ukraine. In Kyiv, due to the enemy’s attack, three rescuers died, who were working under fire to help people.
The Russian army also struck Ternopil, damaging industrial and infrastructure facilities. Ten people were injured, among the wounded are rescuers. A deterioration in air quality was recorded in the city.
In addition to today, the Russian Federation struck Lutsk, Chernihiv, Kremenchuk, Kyiv, and Lviv regions. In total, three people died across Ukraine, and another 40 were injured.
