Vitamins are needed by people in small quantities, but they play an important role in influencing the growth and development of a child. A deficiency in vitamins can lead to specific symptoms and illnesses.
How to visually suspect a deficiency of certain vitamins in a child is explained by RBC-Ukraine, according to a post by nutritionist and family doctor Yulia Koval on Instagram.
Hair problems
- Hair Loss: Deficiency in iron, zinc, biotin.
- Dry and Dull Hair: Deficiency in all macronutrients, vitamins A and E.
- Brittle Hair: Deficiency in macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbohydrates), biotin (B7), iron.
- Alopecia: Deficiency in macronutrients, zinc, vitamin B group.
- Affected Oral Mucosa and Lips
- Angular stomatitis (mouth sores): Deficiency in B2, B6, B12.
- Atrophy of tongue papillae: Niacin deficiency.
- Bleeding gums: Vitamin C deficiency.
