Do this exercise for 20 minutes per day to live three years longer

A simple daily activity can significantly reduce the risk of premature death and improve quality of life. Just 20 minutes of walking per day is enough to lower the risk of disease and increase life expectancy. This is reported by American longevity researcher Dan Buettner.
What is known
According to the expert, walking is free, requires little effort, and can have a major impact on longevity.
In particular, people who lead a sedentary lifestyle can add years to their life simply by starting to walk for just 20 minutes a day.
Brisk walking can help improve endurance and burn extra calories.
There’s no pill or supplement that adds years to your life… but this can. If you’re sedentary and simply start walking 20 minutes a day, you can add 3 years to your life expectancy. Three years! – the researcher added.
How many calories does walking burn?
Dr. Timothy Burnett, instructor of kinesiology at OSU Cascades, says that on average, a person burns 100 calories per 1.5 kilometers. This means that walking at a leisurely pace for 20 minutes burns about five calories per minute, or 100 calories for the 20-minute walk.
In addition to being convenient, free, and easy for most of us, researchers have found some health benefits.
A study showed that walking can reduce cravings for sweets. Even in stressful situations, employees ate only half as much chocolate as usual after a 15-minute walk.
Meanwhile, a study by the American Cancer Society focused on walking found that women who walked seven or more hours a week had a 14% lower risk of breast cancer compared to those who walked three hours or less per week.
Walking also reduces joint pain. It protects the joints, especially the knees and hips, which are most vulnerable to osteoarthritis, by lubricating them and strengthening the muscles that support them.
