'Grain deal' and more - Meeting of the UN Security Council will take place today
According to The New York Times, the UN Security Council will convene for a meeting today, July 26, to discuss the Russian strikes on ports in Ukraine and more.
As reported by the publication, Russia complained to the UN Security Council about the alleged persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) due to its connections with Moscow and the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), which supported the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory.
On the other hand, Ukraine requested a meeting due to Russia's attacks on Ukrainian port cities, including Odesa, with the aim of blocking grain and agricultural exports.
Shelling of Odessa and the region
After Russia withdrew from the 'grain deal', the enemy almost nightly attacked the south of Ukraine. In particular, the aggressor is actively targeting Odesa and the region.
For instance, on the night of July 23, the Russians launched a missile strike on the Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral in Odesa. The attack resulted in partial destruction of the temple's building and roof.
