Norwegian PM announces Denmark to send two more F-16 fighter jet batches to Ukraine
Denmark has already delivered six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. A total of 19 aircraft are expected to be supplied to Ukraine, stated Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to her, Denmark has no changes in its plans to transfer a certain number of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
"Six were delivered. It was the first batch," Frederiksen said.
She recalled that since last summer, Denmark has been involved in training Ukrainian pilots to fly these fighters.
Norwegian Prime Minister added that while it was challenging, the training was successful. The process is ongoing, with two more batches of aircraft expected, bringing the total to 19.
F-16 for Ukraine
In late July, Ukraine received its first batch of F-16 fighter jets from international partners as part of military aid. The exact number of these jets has not been disclosed.
The second batch of F-16s from Norway is expected to arrive soon. This was confirmed by Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov following talks with Norwegian Minister of Defense Gram on October 17.
Additionally, it is important to note that F-16 fighter jets shot down 10 aerial targets during Russia's large-scale attack on November 17.
