Denmark to allocate nearly $100 million for production of Ukrainian weapons
Denmark will allocate 1 billion Danish kroner (approximately $96 million) for military aid to Ukraine. The funds are intended for Ukraine's defense industry, announces Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We can only have peace in Europe if we can defend ourselves," emphasized the Danish Prime Minister, announcing new aid for Ukraine.
Frederiksen also urged other European countries to follow Denmark's example and allocate more funds to support Ukraine.
Approximately $96 million will be drawn from the Danish Fund for Ukraine and will be used for the production of Ukrainian weapons.
Denmark's support for Ukraine's defense industry
Denmark was the first NATO country to agree to directly fund Ukraine's defense industry.
In July, Denmark ordered 18 Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems for Ukrainian defenders.
On September 15, it was reported that the first Bohdana system ordered by Denmark had been delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
