Denmark allocates €16 million for Ukraine's energy recovery
The Danish government has allocated 130 million Danish kroner (over €16 million) to support Ukraine's energy system, according to the press service of Denmark's Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Utilities.
"As the heating season approaches, Russia continues its targeted destruction of Ukrainians' access to electricity and heat. Denmark's new contribution of 130 million Danish kroner will make energy supplies more resilient."
The new Danish contribution to support Ukraine's energy system is one of the largest from the country, announced during a meeting of the G7 working group on Ukraine's energy security.
The Danish assistance is funded through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark's program and will help implement emergency measures, procure equipment, and obtain spare parts to support the restoration of supply security.
Denmark's aid to Ukraine
Recently, the Danish government announced a new aid package worth around 783 million Danish kroner (approximately $116 million) to support Ukraine's military needs. This package aims to meet both short-term and long-term defense requirements for Ukraine.
Earlier, Denmark, along with Germany, delivered eight Leopard 1A5 battle tanks to Ukraine as part of military aid.
Additionally, it was reported last week that by the end of 2024, Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighters from Denmark, though the exact date and number of aircraft remain classified for operational security reasons.
