The death toll in Kyiv following Russia's massive combined attack has risen to 20, according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

"Unfortunately, the death toll from today's attack has increased. As of now, 20 people are confirmed dead," he said.

Information on the progress of the search and rescue operation is being updated as new data becomes available. At present, about 90 people have been injured.

Children are among the victims, some of whom have been hospitalized in serious condition. A 10-year-old boy with severe injuries is undergoing surgery, while his parents have not been found under the rubble.

"Doctors are fighting for the life of every injured person. Unfortunately, some people have still not been found," the mayor of Kyiv said.

During the night of July 2, Russia launched 570 aerial attack weapons against Kyiv, including 74 missiles of various types and 496 attack drones. Search and rescue operations are still underway beneath the rubble of a nine-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district.

Aircraft have been deployed to extinguish fires in several districts of the city.

In addition, destruction and damage were recorded at more than 30 locations across seven districts of the capital. The strikes hit residential buildings, an emergency medical services substation, and warehouse facilities.
